  1. This is a great write up on Convertkit. I currently use Mailchimp and have used Aweber in the past. How do you think Convertkit compares to these? Everyone says the money is in the list and I want to make sure I’m using the best option to maximize my profits.

    • Thank you!  I have used both Mailchimp and Aweber.  Both of those are great, but I find that ConvertKit is just much more simple so it makes things much easier due to the simplicity.  Mailchimp has a lot of restrictions that are unnecessary and Aweber has a lot of options to customize, which resulted in me wasting a lot of time in the creation of the templates and emails.  When it comes down to results, statistically the fancier the email is doesn’t necessarily convert more clicks or conversions.  ConvertKit just keeps things simple yet efficient.  Hope that helps!

  2. Hi, Cameron and thanks for reminding me about e-mail marketing opportunity. I am in Internet Marketing about nine years, but this part of have always been for me a little annoying. Like many of us, I have used Aweber and MailChimp and spent some money on it. Maybe I missed something in pros of email marketing or quit it before reaching the goals. Today my website is mainly oriented on Amazon Affiliate and no any email marketing tools involved. Do I miss something because of it?

    • Hi Andrejs,

The reason email marketing is so important for any business is because you have full control over your list.  By being able to send a broadcast email to all your subscribers at once gives you the direct access to a list of interested readers and potential buyers.

Other channels of website traffic or marketing are dependent upon another company.  For example, when Google changed its algorithm on how websites are ranked, many popular websites lost tons of traffic immediately due to their change in policy.  If you have an email list, despite what any company does you have control over that list and the ability to send helpful content and recommendations to already interested customers.

The key though is to start and just be consistent with your email list.  You may not see success immediately, but with time you will learn the way your audience reacts to your content and be able to personalize things to meet their needs.  Another important piece of advice is to make sure you gain the trust of your audience and not try to sound like a salesman every time you send out an email as this will be very apparent to any reader and will discredit your authority.  Focus on being helpful to your readers, and the rest flows naturally.

      Best of luck!

      Cameron
